Marie will guide you through the process of drawing and painting people with her direct painting approach. Marie encourages you to explore your inner artist, showing a fearless method of using the vibrancy of color, and understanding the importance of color theory and value contrasts in your work. Be amazed at the fresh, clean and luminous results when using color triads, proper brush techniques and the direct painting method.Students are encouraged to work from their photos utilizing editing rules, value studies, and artistic license to create award winning compositions.

Fresh from her teaching experience in Italy, Marie will focus on incorporating people into Umbrian landscapes and cityscapes using figures to add scale and interest. (optional- Depending on weather, Day 2 could take students outside for a En Pleine Air experience.) Marie is known for her friendly teaching style, making classes both fun and informative.
